Orange you glad to see me?

In my previous post I talked about the importance of owning classic items that you can always rely on. A denim jacket is one of those items and I've finally found a super cute plus size denim jacket (sadly this was in the sale but this one is also cute!)

Asos Curve never fail to come up with the goods; always giving us plus size girls exactly what we want when it comes to fashion. Any one else addicted to trawling their site and placing cheeky orders at 11pm at night? My name is Danielle and I have a serious addiction to ASOS! Nothing makes me happier than when an order arrives and everything fits perfectly! I threw this denim jobby on and fell in love straight away. I've been trying to find the perfect denim jacket as I've been building up a very large collection of iron-on patches. Before I customise this jacket I thought I'd show you how I've been wearing it recently.

My monthly Monki scavaging session lead me to this amazing orange printed shirt dress. Monki go up to a uk size 18 and I most definilty am not a size 18! I am currently a 22 in most shops and as you can see a size 'L' in this dress is perfect. I love the colour next to my hair and I think it sits really nicely under my denim jacket.

I finished this look off with my new Orla Kiely watch - which I got for Christmas and my chunky Vagabond boots which you can see have been splattered with rain - it is so hard when the weather is so bad to take outfit pictures! Let's hope it starts to clear up soon so us fashion bloggers don't freeze our butts off when we are outside shooting!

Such a monki

It's no secret, I'm a HUGE Monki fan. It's by far my favourite place to browse as there are always so many gems in there suitable for plus size girls. I normally like to mix one of their pieces in with other brands when I build an outfit but with todays outfit; I really went for it!

The printed dress, velvet bomber and gold bag are all from Monki which is a store that doesn't stock "plus size" clothes but as you can see; they fit my plus sized body! If you ever have the chance to pop into their store on Carnaby Street, London then I highly recommend you do. There are so many fun accessories and shoes in there even if you don't manage to find something that fits. Monki is also stocked on ASOS which is great if you have their Premier service as it means you can use their free delivery service.

I'm also the biggest Vagabond shoe fan and it's normally the white ones that I'm drawn to but seeing as I have about a million pairs of white shoes I thought I'd branch out a little! I treated myself to these tan boots as I really wanted the comfort of a Vagabond shoe but a brown ankle boot, as it's far more appropriate for the outfits I'm wearing at the moment. Not that dressing appropriately has ever really been that important to me!

Jump Up, Jump Up and get down.

Fashion should be fun and you should experiment with it because around every corner there is a new style or shape that could change your life. Behold, the jumpsuit! Now, I am fully aware lots of other people have been wearing these for years but as you may be aware, I have a slight aversion to bottoms/trousers so I have steered clear of jumpsuits/playsuits in the past.

When Igigi got in contact with me a while back, they asked if I wanted to review some of their garments. Igigi is an American brand and a lot of the pieces, although very nice, aren't very "me" but perfect for if you had a glam event you needed to attend. I thought I'd give the *jumpsuit a go but I have to be honest, I didn't expect to feel confident in it or love it as much as I do. I honestly felt like such a minx as posed for these pics! I wore my Maiden Form Singlet from Yours Clothing underneath to help me feel a little more confident and it did the trick because I felt secure and all my lumps and bumps felt smooth. I've talked about this shape wear piece before and it's my go to piece which I wear under all my body cons because its perf. Sadly I've had the jumpsuit stashed away for so long now it appears to be sold out but hopefully they sell something similar asap!

Another thing I didn't think I'd ever try was pointed heels. I mean, I wore these when I was a teenager and didn't think I'd ever go there again but these *monochrome heels ones from Simply Be caught my eye. I know some can find pointed heels hard to wear if they have wide feet but I got these in the EEE fitting and they are so good guys! My feet didn't feel uncomfortable in them and although the heel is thin, I didn't wobble about when I was walking around. My cute little Monki handbag was a secret santa gift and I love it because it's exactly what I'd buy for myself - they got it spot on!

*** Edit: Igigi now stock a long sleeved jumpsuit which is definitely worth checking out! Take a peek here.

Don't forget Dorothy Perkins

When I was sixteen, Dotty P's was my favourite shop. I was in their jeans all the time and loved their tops and shoes. In recent years I must admit I have tended to forget they exist and when I'm doing my weekly (sorry who am I trying to kid, DAILY online trawls) it isn't a shop I think to check out.

I looked a few weeks back when they had lots of their beautiful pastel items but didn't buy anything but when I went on last week, I spotted this beautiful palm leaf dress and at £19 I thought it seemed like a bargain! It wasn't until I received it that I realised it was actually from their Tall section. This is such a genius idea! I am not the biggest fan of my legs from the knees up so when I do get my pins out, I like to have a dress that hits me at the knees or that hangs lower than them. By buying from the tall range this means the extra length in their dresses will be perfect for me! I am definitely going to be shopping with them again as they go up to a UK22 and they have some lovely bits in at the moment. I went to their AW14 press day and boy do they have some good stuff in store for us!

I spent the day in the park with friends yesterday and decided I wanted to wear something cool and light and this dress, sandals and cardie proved to be the perfect combo. The sandals are my new best friends as they are a dream to walk around in. Brand new and they have never rubbed. They are wide fit and lovely! The cardigan... have you noticed the colour? It's quite hard to miss I guess ;) It's a really fine knit and perfect if you want to cover up but not feel like you're wrapped in a duvet. It's from Monki which isn't a plus size store but they do carry a lot of over sized garments so it's worth having a look online or in one of their shops. The bag is a vintage number from the 50s and it is so different from any of my other bags and I love it. It always makes me feel like such a lady when I use it! The glasses are my prescription Dior glasses from Pretavoir which I always feel fabulous in.

It was such a lovely sunny day and it was the perfect Saturday!

Shiny, happy people! This is Bob my best friend :)

Cupcakes...oh man the toffee banana one was immense

Print clash to the max!

Now it's very clear to see that I do not like to blend in to the background and I love my clothes/makeup to make me stand out. What better way to do that then wearing in your face, clashing prints?

I was very kindly sent some goodies from New Look Inspire to try and the item that jumped out at me from the package was this ace shift dress. It's so bright, the print is all jazzy and I like the simple no frills cut of the dress. The back is cut slightly longer so you don't flash your bottom to everyone and even though it is a short style, with leggings it is totally fine. I am a short lass though so keep that in mind if you are tall. If you like this tunic, you can buy it here.

I spent the day shopping with my Mum a few months back and we popped into Monki. I adore this brand. I first shopped in there whilst I lived in Stockholm and I would spend my monthly salary in there pretty much every month. I'm surprised that since it's moved to London I haven't shopped in there more to be honest. It isn't a plus size store BUT they often have over sized styles in there and there jackets/coats can be very generous. I picked up this very reasonably priced bomber jacket and a super bright chartreuse cardigan which I have yet to blog about. The site doesn't do that cardy justice... the colour is SO BRIGHT!

I've always loved a bomber as I get too hot in big coats and sometimes you want a more edgy vibe to an outfit than you get wearing a cardigan (no offence to cardigan wearers, I love them as well)

I finished the outfit off with some more colour just to calm things down (jokes) The earrings are new from River Island and available here but the bag is an old Topshop purchase from last year and the shoes are old New Look ones. My lippy is 'La Diva' from Chanel, you know the same one I seem to wear every other day! The sunnies were a freebie that I got in my Boohoo AW14 press day goodie bag! Lovely jubbly!

Have an excellent weekend guys, I will be spending it with friends, drinking and eating cake at my friends birthday party and doing some styling work.
