I've got that 70s flare

When I first found out that the 70s trend was back in full force; I recoiled. I never, ever thought I would love it as much as I have done this year. I have lost count of the number of 70s inspired posts I have done and let me tell you; I don't see myself stopping any time soon! I have a fair few posts in store for you still and I can't stop lusting after everything denim, suede and fringed!

Nothing has surprised me more than the fact I have found myself wearing not only a pair of jeans recently, but a flared pair at that! Now, these jeans aren't the standard 'flare' style but actually... wait for it... a bootcut jean. Now, if you said to me that I'd be rocking a pair of boot cut jeans in 2015, I would have probably laughed at you and then grimaced at the idea BUT look at me now!

These super bootcut jeans are from Simply Be, the only place I've ever managed to find denim to fit/suit me. They kick out at the bottom in a subtle way and they high waisted which I love. I recommend picking your usual size as I tried a size up and they were too big - sure a rarity in plus size jeans!

Styled with a camel coat, plunge neck bodysuit and over size sunglasses;  I've reached optimum 70s realness with this outfit I think!

Denim For Days [10 Plus Size Denim Picks]

In the past the only plus size friendly denim you could find was the odd pair of ill fitting jeans and if you were lucky a really shoddy denim jacket. Today, I still personally find it really hard to find a pair of jeans that fit well but luckily for me I can still get my denim fix because so many brands now do amazingggg denim pieces.

I've put a little selection together below and I think you'll agree; things are really coming along nicely for us plus size ladies. It's refreshing to see that we now have access to some of the same shapes available to our skinnier pals. Click on the garment you like and it'll take you directly to the correct shop.

What do you guys think about these denim pieces? Are you as happy as I am that we now have lots of denim to choose from or do you still shy away from this structured fabric?

Oi Oi 70's Sailor!

If you're a fan of a particular trend but you're not sure how far to delve into it; I suggest just buying one piece of clothing that represents that trend well and seeing how it works for you. If you get on well with it, you can always keep adding to your collection and before you know it; you'll have an entire outfit that's bang on trend!

The 70's trend continues to be very popular this spring and I have been surprised at how many outfits I have styled that have been dedicated to this era! If you fancy trying a 70's style but you're not sure what to get; may I suggest this wonderful A-Line Button Up Denim Skirt?

As soon as I started to see suede mini skirts and denim button up skirts in the shops I was desperate for a plus size range to bring one out. All hail ASOS Curve because they delivered and I am not disappointed. I suggest sizing up as it's a button up jobby and denim items generally can come up quite snug. I teamed it with the *best* Breton Stripe Top I have ever owned (Thanks to Bets who bought this top to my attention, buy similar here) and this perfect rust coloured coat. A little note about the coat - it is a UK14 which just goes to show that you should always try things on when you go shopping!

My makeup and accessories are just as important to me as my clothes are and I loved how my makeup turned out on this particular day... don't you just love when that happens? I'm wearing 'Chili' by MAC on my lips, my blusher is called 'Warm Soul' by MAC and I'm wearing *'Malibu' nail varnish by Barry M Cosmetics. Gold earrings, a BFF necklace, old black boots and my old black bag finish the look off. I felt like a 70s style sailor and it was the perfect outfit to wear for a stroll along the Southbank.

Denim Daisy

Good afternoon all,

Such a sunny, glorious day isn't it?! It really does help to improve your mood, when the sun is pouring through your windows and warming up your pastey skin.

I popped up to London yesterday to meet my lesbian life parter Callie and we headed to the New Look HQ to try on clothes and drink prosecco and discuss our future project. Exciting times ahead guys so stay tuned for what we have planned!!

This is the outfit I decided to wear and I really enjoyed plodding around in such a springy outfit.
The *denim parka from Simply Be is such dream. I didn't know how much I wanted one until I saw it, if that makes any sense? Such a great in-between season type coat. I love the white cord toggle and the fact is has a hood.

The Topsy Curvy *daisy dress, which I have worn to death since acquiring it, is a perfect little swing dress. Very short on me but the parka stops everyone from seeing... ya know. Remember to size up in this style as it comes up quite small.

My necklace is an old Accessorize jobby and I love the mix of denim and neon. I think it suited the outfit rather well! I wore my really old, white brogues (standardly) and I bought this cute grey/blue bag from Topshop last year and it was suchhhhh a good buy. It goes with tonnes of outfits and I love that it's quite dinky but you can ram it full of your shite still. My blue ring is an old one from Primark and the sparkly one is an old Accessorize purchase. The bangle is an old gift from my mum. Aww, I do love my Mum.

I hope you all are enjoying your weekend, and making the most of the sunshine? What are you all up to?
